Description
The Piña Colada is a tropical cocktail that originated in Puerto Rico. It is a creamy drink with lots of pineapple flavor and with a subtle taste of coconut.

Ingredients
- 2 fresh pineapples, cut into 1-inch chunks
- ⅓ cup of water
- 1 cup cream of coconut
- ¾ cup white rum or to taste
- 1 cup crushed ice or ice cubes
Instructions
- After cutting the pineapples into chunks, reserve 1½ cups of fresh pineapple chunks.
- Add remaining chunks into blender with ⅓ cup of water and beat at high speed until well blended.
- Place strainer over bowl lined with cheesecloth. Pour liquified pineapple chunks through cheesecloth. Lift cheesecloth and squeeze out the juice with your hands. Measure 3 cups of pineapple juice.
- Pour pineapple juice, cream of coconut, pineapple chunks, white rum and ice cubes into blender and beat at high speed until a creamy texture is formed.
- Decorate drinking glass rim with a slice of pineapple and serve immediately.
Notes
Note: If using canned cream of coconut, stir content to combine the coconut cream and coconut water before measuring 1 cup of cream of coconut.
