BBQ Sauce for Pulled Pork

Description

Homemade BBQ Sauce that is creamy, bursting with sweet and tangy flavors.   An excellent sauce for different cuts of meat and seafood.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ cups tomato ketchup
  • 4 ounces apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ cup water

Spices:

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon lite salt or ¼ teaspoon of regular salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper

Instructions

  1.   Combined all the ingredients (except the spices) into a 4-quart saucepan.
  2.   Add the spices, and stir until all the ingredients are well blended.
  3.   Cook uncovered over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  4.   Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  5.   If you want to make BBQ Pork Sandwiches, then place 4 cups of cooked pulled pork into the barbecue sauce.  Coat the pork meat completely with the sauce.   Cover saucepan with lid and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6.   Serve warm on a bun accompanied with coleslaw and dill pickles.  It can also be served with potato salad or macaroni salad.

Notes

The induction cooker is turned off while mixing all the ingredients for the barbecue sauce.

The barbecue sauce should yield approximately 2½ cups.  The total time and nutritional value is only calculated for the barbecue sauce.
